How You Can Help

VOLUNTEERING is very rewarding,

and there are many ways you can assist our team

providing encouragement to the elderly in our community

  • Church Services

We are currently offering weekly Sunday services at: Folsom Convalescent Hospital, Emeritus, Creekside Oaks; and several Care Homes. Training for this opportunity can be provided.

Opportunities to serve are listed below. Schedules are flexible to your availability.

  • Worship Leader

Do you have the gift of preaching or teaching? Worship services are normally 45 min. to 1hr. on Sunday mornings at various locations.

  • Music Team

Piano players, instrumentalist and vocalists are needed to sing and play the traditional hymns for Sunday services.

  • Sunday Volunteers

Committed people of all ages are needed to help bring patients from their rooms, turn hymnal pages, pray, clap and laugh with the patients before and during Sunday services.

  • Animal Visitation

Do you have a gentle, friendly pet to share? Animal visitations are a wonderful opportunity to share the special love God has for His creation. Check with a facility Activity Coordinator before bringing your pet.

  • Beauty

Share the gift of pampering. Women are needed to give a little personal attention to the women isolated at the Folsom Convalescent Hospital. Manicures take place on Wednesday mornings. Spend some time with a new friend!

  • Reading Ministry

Spend time with our seniors either by reading to them or by sharing an audio tape / CD. A love for our seniors is all you really need!

  • ‘Chatter Time’ with Seniors

We share the ‘Good Old Days’ by reading a good old time story from ‘past times’ magazines. This starts the conversation rolling and who knows where it will go from there!!

  • Group Activities

Normally held once a month, join in with a group to help out doing Bingo, monthly Birthday parties, etc. This is an excellent way to acquaint you with the Home and someone special who lives there.

  • Special Projects:

We currently are providing volunteers for the following activities: Folsom Zoo trip; Spring Festival; Summer Picnic; Fall Festival; Christmas Party; Tea Parties; July Senior Dance.

We’ll give you all the help you need!
